What is Foundations for Tomorrow?
Foundations for Tomorrow is a bi-partisan youth-led organisation with the mission to amplify the voices of young Australians as we design a more just, equitable and sustainable future for Australia. In the first half of 2021, we conducted a national youth consultation amplifying the voices of thousands of young people and are now setting our sights on using these insights to drive meaningful change and progress.
Why is Foundations for Tomorrow taking climate action?
Because it is, without a doubt, the most pressing issue of our time. We have no choice but to take action.
Can you share something Foundations for Tomorrow is currently working on that you are excited about?
Our focus currently is on advocacy for progress at an industry and government level, ensuring that ambitious action on climate change is being taken. We will soon complete our national youth consultation which will have its report published in June 2021!
What real-world opportunities has Foundations for Tomorrow uncovered from taking climate action?
We are still in the midst of our first initiative and these opportunities are still revealing themselves. However, the pattern that we are seeing is that if you are able to bring true innovation and creativity to the challenges we face, there is potential to find solutions that not only overcome the challenge but also create an even better alternative.
What action would you like to see Australia take on climate?
I would like to see Australia step up as a leader in the climate action space, especially given our wealth of opportunity in renewable energy. I would also like to see our leadership engage with the issue more candidly and directly.
