Dear Friend,
Our May newsletter is full of Better Futures Forum information, open consultations to check out, and many industry events through June and July to consider. Read on!
🌏 ON OUR AGENDA 🌏
🚗 Like everyone working in the climate and clean energy space, we were heartened when the New Vehicle Emissions Standard received the support it needed in parliament to pass into law. Hooray! Finally, Australians will have access to cleaner cars and a wider range of EVs when the standard starts next year. If this topic excites you, be sure to participate in the Department of Infrastructure and Transport’s Net Zero Roadmap consultation. The link is below in the Be Part of the Solution section.
💰Another really positive piece of news in May was the government’s $22.7 billion investment in creating a clean energy economy - a welcome and vital step towards a thriving and better future. Our team is looking forward to doing all we can to support our members to amplify th. Reaching zero emissions requires the collective effort of businesses, investors, cities, regions, First Nations, academia and cultural institutions, engineers, artists, youth, farmers, faith leaders, healthcare providers, community organisations, and policymakers. In other words: everyone in the BFA network committed to climate action and a better future for us all!

BETTER FUTURES FORUM 2024
As mentioned above, we are busy working on program and speaker lineup for the Better Futures Forum, September 10 - 11 in Canberra at the National Film and Sound Archive.
Our two day forum will highlight place-based case studies on clean energy, transition, and climate action in urban, regional and international settings. The case studies, interactive workshops and roundtables in the afternoon sessions will give attendees insight into key initiatives happening around the country, and how we can use their success for advocacy to state and federal government.
Speakers Announced!
We’re excited to announce the following speakers confirmed for September's Forum:

Stay tuned for more speaker announcements over the coming weeks, on the BFF website and across our socials.
BFF Advisory Committee
We continue to receive input on the Forum from our Advisory Committee who have been so helpful in developing the program and suggesting speakers.
