One year on from Melbourne Climate Futures’ establishment, we celebrate by bringing together climate action leaders to examine where the last year has brought us and how much further we need to go.
COP26 in November 2021 presented countries worldwide with a number of opportunities and obstacles in the push to limit global warming to 1.5°C by 2030. As we embark on the journey to COP27, 2022 has already seen devastating extreme weather events in Australia and a damning report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Speaking to experts in the science, policy and business of climate change, this online event will discuss topics such as: whether COP26 delivered what was required to limit global warming and what we need from COP27; how the youth voice is leading the fight to curb greenhouse gas emissions; and what we can do to accelerate a just and equitable transition to green energy.
