Better Futures Australia

Dear Friend,

Our June newsletter is packed with Better Futures Forum information, open consultations to check out, and events through July to consider. Read on!

🌏 ON OUR AGENDA 🌏

June was another critical month for Australia's climate and energy ambition. Highlights include major Senate inquiries, the passage of key clean energy bills in NSW, and significant discussions among environment ministers on various topics, from Nature Positive initiatives to packaging reforms. The Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) 2024 Integrated System Plan has also confirmed that renewables are the lowest-cost pathway to supply electricity for Australians. Despite these advancements, discussions around the rejection of the Duty of Care bill remind us that we are still far from aligning with the 1.5°C target. We need to go further together if we're to align with what the climate science demands, intensifying our collective efforts to ensure a climate resilient and better future for Australians.
