Patrick McCormick

Former National Sustainably Lead of Scouts Australia

Patrick McCormick has a passion for sustainability, with 15 years’ experience in the public sector across the environment, science and corporate sustainability sectors. His experience spans management of scientific programs, collaborating with communities on co-designed environmental monitoring, carbon accounting, and developing sustainability reporting and engagement programs.

Over three decades membership of Scouts Australia, he has been fortunate to support youth to become well-rounded citizens and experience the great outdoors. Scouts Australia is part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), committed to action on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As one of the world’s leading non-formal education programs for youth, they are empowering young people to take action, working together to create a better world.

When not volunteering, Patrick loves spending time connecting with nature, whether that be in his productive garden, or on adventures in the great outdoors with his wife and dogs. While committed to personal action to live a more sustainable life, Patrick recognises we must continue to champion system change to ensure a more resilient and sustainable world for all.
