Michael Li

Senior Project Manager at ClimateWorks Australia

Michael manages projects with a focus on reducing carbon emissions from cities, encompassing buildings, infrastructure, transport and energy sectors. Michael has strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a proven track record in translating research into sustainability advice for business and government. He managed the technical analysis, stakeholder facilitation, content delivery and publication of Built to Perform, a landmark initiative led by ClimateWorks and the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council to strengthen minimum energy standards for new buildings. Prior to joining ClimateWorks, Michael worked as a sustainability consultant at global integrated services firm AECOM.

Michael holds Bachelor’s degrees in engineering and science from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree in sustainable development from the University of Cambridge. In 2014 Michael was recognised by collaborative sustainability community 2degrees as one of the global “Top 25 Under 25s” transforming the world of sustainable business, and he was named Young Energy Efficiency Professional 2018 at the National Energy Efficiency Awards.
