Mara Bún

Chair of Australian Impact Investments

Mara is Chair of asset consultants Australian Impact Investments and Non-Executive Director of funds manager Australian Ethical Investments. Through an early career with Morgan Stanley’s SF technology investment banking group and as Senior Internet Equities Research Analyst at Macquarie Bank, Mara understood the exponential power of capital and technology. She champions finance for good. 

Mara was Director of Business Development at CSIRO and has held senior roles at Choice, Greenpeace ANZ, Canstar, and Green Cross Australia. As strategy lead for Food Agility CRC, Mara drove collaborative research fostering digital transformation of the agrifood sector. She is a founder of The Salmon Project which supports deep tech scale-ups in the #climatetech, #spacetech, #agritech and #naturecapital areas, driving agile R&D and Series B funding pathways. 

Mara is President of the Australian Conservation Foundation and Chairs the board of Bowerbird Collective, a new classical music ensemble that inspires audiences to fall in love with nature.
