Founder and managing director of Carbon West, a carbon farming consultancy based in Perth, Western Australia, Jennifer is using carbon markets to incentivise farmers to build organic carbon levels in agricultural soils.
With experience in regenerative farming, journalism, publishing, natural resource management administration, small business, directorship and soil carbon project development, Jennifer has a broad view and a passion for making agriculture better.
After a career in journalism in Western Australia, Jennifer moved into magazine publishing and business management in post-handover Hong Kong, before going back to her farming roots and discovering her passion for agriculture.
She has managed a fine-wool Merino breeding program, completed numerous environmental protection/regeneration projects (including creek line fencing, revegetation, vermin control and weed eradication), improved farm management infrastructure, implemented annual cropping programs and introduced numerous “sustainable farming” initiatives across the property.
Her latest venture, Carbon West, offers consultancy services to businesses wishing to explore the opportunities presented by the fast-growing carbon industry, and helps facilitate farmer-driven carbon project registration and management.
