Deo Prasad

Scientia Professor at UNSW & Former CEO, CRC for Low Carbon Living

Scientia Professor Deo Prasad is among the internationally recognised Australian experts in the field of environment and sustainability with a focus on the built environment. His experience covers practice as an architect, long standing experience as a thought leader and a distinguished academic, significant leadership and governance expertise, all with notable recognition from all levels of government and professions. Deo led the National Research and Innovation Hub for the Built Environment (CRC for Low Carbon Living) and is now Managing the Sustainable Communities and Waste Hub based at UNSW. Deo has published books such as Designing with Solar Power (EarthScan), Decarbonising the Built Environment (MacMillans), Energy Efficient Australian Housing (AGPC) and now finalising his latest book on Climate Emergency – delivering on net zero carbon buildings. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
