Daniel Stronggrove

Sustainability Coordinator for Cairns Regional Council

Daniel is the Energy Management and Sustainability Advisor for Cairns Regional Council. In this role he is working to embed better energy and emissions management into Council operations and managing Council’s renewable energy transition. He is also a key instigator of the annual Cairns ECOfiesta sustainability festival.

Daniel has also pursued a passion for sustainability and teaching as a lecturer at Adelaide and James Cook Universities, while also founding and operating an organic waste composting business in partnership with a regional Queensland Council. He has a PhD in Mechatronics and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Adelaide.
