Celina Garcia

Climateworks Centre, lead of the Land Use Futures program

Celina Garcia works on issues of food, land use and climate change at Climateworks Centre, part of Monash University’s Sustainable Development Institute.  She has a Master of Arts (Geography) from the University of Auckland and her work spans environmental research, policy and strategy in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Celina has worked across a range of environmental issues including biodiversity, habitat protection on private land, land use planning, Indigenous people’s rights and interests, fisheries management and climate change. She is currently leading the Land Use Futures program – a multi-year initiative developing pathways to sustainable land use for Australia.
