Anjali Sharma

Lead litigant of Sharma v Environment Minister

Anjali Sharma is an Australian highschool student with a passion for promoting climate awareness and protecting the rights of future generations. When she was 16, she was the lead litigant of the Sharma v Environment Minister class action case in the Federal Court. The case was brought against the Federal Minister for the Environment, Sussan Ley, for failing to protect future generations against climate change. 

Anjali has extensive experience in this litigation, and in community organising - particularly with the school strikes for climate. In 2021, she was a finalist in the 2021 Children's Climate Prize. She is a speaker, writer and storyteller for climate action.
