Australian Local Government Climate Review: Final Report!
We're thrilled to have launched the Australian Local Government Climate Review 2018 with project partners ICLEI Oceania and Beyond Zero Emissions.
The report is the end result of the most comprehensive local government and climate change survey Australian councils and communities have ever witnessed. Over the last few months we've had a team collating and analysing the data and we now have the final product!
The report finds local governments and their communities are leading the way on climate action, completing energy efficiency and renewable projects across the land, which align with the latest climate science and international agreements.

What's Inside?
We invited Australian council and community stakeholders to take part in the survey to better understand local government climate change actions, policies, strategies and targets.
We now have the end result in 34 pages of information to help better understand the climate change actions and targets, policies and strategies of Australian councils and communities.
The report includes key findings, results, state overview and case studies. A series of recommendations for councils, local government groups and associations, and state, territory and federal governments are outlined as well as steps communities can take to drive and accelerate climate action in their local area.
The Report was launched at the international Resilient Cities Conference in Bonn, Germany on Saturday 28th April, where Australian council, state and community climate action was highlighted on the world stage. While Australia has witnessed our fair share of embarrassment from the Federal level over many decades now, the story from other levels of government is one of achievement and innovation. Examples showcased to global leaders included the successful regional models of greenhouse alliances and regional organisations of councils; the ACT government's 100% renewable energy target for the whole territory (on target to be achieved by 2020) and Victoria's TAKE2 pledge program.
